The Problems Students Face

After 7 years of working as an in-home tutor Lauren Gaggioli, founder of Higher Scores, acknowledged that students were struggling with a lot of problems when participating in the two tests.

One of the most common problems that students face before taking the actual test is feeling worried. Students spend most of their time during their classes studying subjects and taking many different tests but none of them share any similarities with the SAT or ACT. Although SAT or ACT only test the same principle that the students are taught in school, the way the questions are formatted is what makes them difficult.

Going into a test full of trick questions and traps without being prepared beforehand is the main reason why students feel extremely nervous. This destructive feeling led to a series of problems: lack of time, not performing at the highest level, and making tons of mistakes… all of these will result in lower results than expected. A devastating consequence of this is lacking confidence, giving up after the first try, fear, and not being able to overcome the feeling of failure.

Another vital issue is that most tutor or test prep programs nowadays charge too much.  Many families cannot afford such high prices. This takes away from many students the opportunity to advance.

How Higher Scores Test Prep solves these problems

For fear that such problems would make students feel discouraged from taking the actual test, Higher Scores Test Prep has come up with their solution: Whole Student and Whole Family support.

Whole Student support

The fact that most students are not equipped with support from schools is why Whole Student Support was born. Designed to arm students with suitable strategies, the system will help students overcome the feeling of worry when facing these tests. This will help boost their confidence and raise their performance on the tests, eventually leading to better higher test scores.

Whole Family support

On average, private tutor programs are charged around $250 per hour which might be too expensive for some. This might put bright students at a major disadvantage. By taking away 2 of the biggest problems: The time and the money it takes to prepare for the actual test, Whole Family will be a game changer for many families preparing for their children’s college life.

And for students who have decided to join their course, Higher Scores Test Prep also provides full support via email and weekly countdown emails to both students and parents to make sure that you’ll always be on the right track toward your future.

SAT has a lot of tricky questions with dense wording

ACT questions are simple, straightforward

SAT questions are only on math and language subjects

ACT questions cover a lot more subjects including biology, physics, and astrology...

Should I take the ACT or SAT?

Many students think that SAT is harder than the ACT and either SAT is only for intelligent students or ACT is much harder than SAT. The truth is these two are both at the same level of difficulty and are equally treated by colleges.

Our advice: Just choose the test that fits you the most. If you are a student who knows about a lot of subjects then ACT should be best suited for you. If you are more into logical thinking and languages, go for the SAT.
